John Donkin

JOHN H. E. DONKIN B.ARCH.,O.A.A.,M.R.A.I.C.

John Donkin is a licensed architect with over twenty-five years of architectural experience preceded by seven years' work in construction. He is particularly interested in the development of innovative building forms especially suited to unique clients and unusual situations.

After graduating from the School of Architecture at Carleton University, Mr Donkin worked as project architect in two prominent Ottawa architectural firms on a variety of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. He has experience in all aspects of project design, management and construction, including zoning interpretation, architectural design, site planning, budget and cost analysis, construction documentation, the preparation of tender documents and analysis of tenders, contract administration, site review and the certification of payments. John Donkin is also experienced in energy efficient building technology, including LEED Platinum and Silver, and passivhaus energy standards.

Chris Cormier

CHRIS CORMIER B. ENV. DES., M.ARCH, INTERN ARCHITECT

Chris Cormier has a Master of Architecture degree from Carleton University and is currently gaining experience as an Intern Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects. He has a keen interest in the urban fabric and how it can be improved through careful and well thought out design.

Prior to moving to Ottawa, Chris recieved an undergraduate degree in Architectural Design from the University of Manitoba and also spent time working for a small commercial architecture firm in Edmonton. In addition to his formal design experience and training he also has experience working in the construction industry, most recently for a design/build contractor in the Ottawa area.

John Donkin Architect Inc. provides the experience and creativity needed to design and oversee the construction of a wide range of building projects. The firm meets the professional standards established by 'The Architects Act', and regulated by The Ontario Association of Architects. Full architectural services are available, from the intial conceptual design, through obtaining permits and overseeing construction.

DESIGN COUNSELLING

Design counselling is a service through which John Donkin Architect Inc. provides professional advice on an hourly basis when full architectural services are not required.

Design counselling makes professional architectural advice available and affordable for anyone engaged in any stage of buying, building or renovating a property, building or home.
